Evri has a reputation. If you've been on any UK reseller forum in the past few years, you'll have seen the complaints - parcels left in bins, deliveries marked as complete that never arrived, customer service that goes in circles. It's not entirely undeserved.
But here's what those forums don't say: Evri handles tens of millions of parcels a year, and the vast majority arrive fine. I've sent well over fifty parcels via Evri through Vinted and had exactly two problems - both resolved through Vinted's buyer protection with no loss to me. For lightweight clothing, which is the bread and butter of Vinted selling, Evri works and the price is competitive.
The key is understanding when to use it and when not to. This guide covers both.
Evri's Two Vinted Services
Vinted offers two Evri options through integrated shipping:
| Service | How It Works | Price (Buyer Pays) |
|---|---|---|
| Evri ParcelShop Drop-Off | You drop the parcel at a local ParcelShop | £2.62 (<1kg) / £2.62 (1–2kg) / £2.62 (2–5kg) / £5.87 (5–10kg) |
| Evri Home Collection | Evri courier collects from your home | £3.29 (<1kg) / £4.79 (1–2kg) / £6.59 (2–5kg) / £6.68 (5–10kg) |
The flat-rate pricing on ParcelShop drop-off is notable - you pay the same whether the parcel is 200g or 4.9kg. That makes Evri ParcelShop genuinely excellent value for heavier items within the 2–5kg range.
For reference, a 3kg parcel via InPost locker-to-locker would cost £3.99. The same parcel via Evri ParcelShop costs £2.62. The maths works in Evri's favour for heavier bundles.
How to Drop Off at an Evri ParcelShop
ParcelShops are typically newsagents, convenience stores, petrol stations, and smaller shops that act as Evri agents. There are around 7,000 ParcelShops across the UK. Find yours at evri.com/find-a-parcelshop.
| Step | What to Do | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sell your item on Vinted | Buyer selects Evri at checkout |
| 2 | Open Vinted app → My Sales → tap order | Find the order and view shipping details |
| 3 | Download and print your Evri shipping label | Unlike InPost, Evri ParcelShop typically requires a printed label |
| 4 | Package your item securely | Tape all seams - Evri warehouses are automated and parcels get handled firmly |
| 5 | Attach the label to the outside of the parcel | Visible and flat - don't fold it over edges |
| 6 | Take it to your chosen ParcelShop | Bring the parcel and your phone (for any QR backup) |
| 7 | Hand it to the shop assistant | They scan your label and give you a receipt |
| 8 | Keep your receipt | This is your proof of postage - keep it until the buyer confirms receipt |
| 9 | Tracking updates within a few hours | You and the buyer can both track via Vinted or Evri's website |
Does Evri ParcelShop require a printed label? Usually yes - but this is changing. Some ParcelShops now accept QR codes that they scan and print in-store. When selecting Evri in the Vinted app, you'll be shown whether a QR-code option is available for your nearest ParcelShop. If not, you need a printed label.
If you don't have a printer, InPost is the easier no-printer option - read the full guide on selling on Vinted without a printer.
Evri Home Collection
If you select Home Collection, a courier comes to your address on the booked date. You get a time window (typically a four-hour slot) and the parcel is collected from your door.
Pros: You don't need to go anywhere.
Cons: More expensive, you're tied to being home during the collection window, and if the courier doesn't turn up (it happens), you have to rebook.
For regular Vinted selling, Home Collection is more hassle than ParcelShop drop-off. I only use it for very heavy items (5kg+) where dragging a large box to a shop is impractical.
Evri vs Other Vinted Carriers: When to Use What
| Scenario | Best Carrier | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Lightweight clothing (<1kg) | InPost or Yodel | Cheaper at £1.99 |
| Heavy clothing bundle (2–5kg) | Evri ParcelShop | Flat £2.62 - cheapest for this range |
| No printer available | InPost | Fully QR-code based |
| Rural buyer, no nearby locker | Royal Mail or Evri | Wider coverage |
| Fragile or valuable item | DHL or DPD | Better handling, better tracking |
| Need next-day delivery | DPD | Most reliable for speed |
| Very heavy parcel (5–10kg) | Yodel or DPD | Better pricing at this weight |
Evri's Reputation: Honest Assessment
I'm not going to pretend Evri has no problems. Trustpilot reviews are rough. Some courier franchisees are less careful than others. Parcels occasionally get lost or damaged.
But in the context of Vinted's integrated shipping, the risk is lower than you might think. Here's why: Vinted compensates for lost or damaged parcels on integrated shipping, provided the item was packed properly. So even if Evri loses the parcel, you open a claim through Vinted rather than battling Evri's customer service directly.
That said, there are categories of items I wouldn't send via Evri:
- Fragile items (glassware, ceramics, vintage electronics) - use DHL or DPD instead
- High-value items (£80+) - even with Vinted's protection, the claims process is a hassle; use a carrier with better handling
- Items in original branded boxes - Evri's automated sorting can be rough on boxes
For T-shirts, jeans, jumpers, dresses, trainers in a plastic parcel bag - Evri is fine.
Tracking with Evri
Evri tracking works but is less granular than InPost or DPD. You'll typically see:
- Parcel received at ParcelShop
- Parcel in transit at Evri hub
- Out for delivery
- Delivered
You won't see the same level of real-time updates you get with InPost. On occasion, tracking doesn't update for 12–24 hours during the hub processing stage, which can alarm buyers. If this happens, just reassure them that this is normal with Evri and tracking will update when the parcel reaches the local depot.
What to Do if Evri Delivery Fails
Sometimes Evri attempts delivery when the buyer isn't home. Here's what happens:
- Evri leaves a card (or notifies via app) with details of the redelivery attempt
- Buyer can rebook a delivery slot via Evri's website
- Alternatively, buyer can collect from the Evri depot
If after multiple attempts the parcel is returned to you as the sender, contact Vinted support. Don't attempt to re-send - let Vinted advise on the process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need to print a label for Evri on Vinted? Usually yes for ParcelShop drop-off. Some ParcelShops offer QR-code-based label printing in-store, but this isn't universal. Check your specific ParcelShop when setting up shipment. If you have no printer access, InPost's fully QR-based system is the simpler choice.
How long does Evri take to deliver on Vinted? Typically two to four working days from drop-off at a ParcelShop. Evri isn't the fastest carrier on Vinted, but it's within a reasonable window. If your buyer selected Evri at checkout, set expectations that it might be closer to the four-day end of that range.
Is Evri safe to use for Vinted parcels? For most items, yes. The main caution is for fragile or high-value items where the consequences of mishandling are significant. For standard clothing, Evri is adequate and Vinted's integrated shipping protection covers you if something goes wrong.
What if Evri loses my Vinted parcel? Because you're using Vinted's integrated shipping, you claim compensation through Vinted rather than Evri directly. Vinted will investigate and compensate you (as the seller) or the buyer, depending on the specifics. This is why using integrated shipping rather than your own postage arrangement matters so much.
How do I find an Evri ParcelShop near me? Go to evri.com/find-a-parcelshop and enter your postcode. There are around 7,000 locations - most areas have several within a few miles. Newsagents and petrol stations are the most common ParcelShop types.
Can I use Evri for heavy items on Vinted? Yes - Evri accepts parcels up to 15kg on Vinted's integrated shipping. At the 2–5kg range, Evri's flat-rate ParcelShop pricing of £2.62 is actually among the cheapest options available. For 5–10kg, Evri charges £5.87, at which point Yodel or DPD may be more competitive.
What's better for Vinted - Evri or InPost? For most sellers, InPost is slightly preferable: no printer required, real-time tracking, reliable handling, and cheaper for sub-1kg items. But Evri's flat-rate ParcelShop pricing makes it better for heavier multi-item bundles. Use whichever suits the specific parcel.
